Many parish members desire to offer some of their time to serve Our Lord by volunteering their time to the parish.  St. Irene Parish has established a simple organized system so that members can volunteer time to the parish by choosing an area of work that meets each member's lifestyle and interests.

For more information, please contact the Parish secretary or E-mail

Birthright of Lowell

During "Respect Life Month" (October), St. Irene's collects baby items for a baby shower for Birthright of Lowell. Donations of new or gently used baby clothing, toys, and supplies are welcome at any time.

For more information, please contact Birthright@stirenes.org.

Caring Friends

"Caring Friends" offers friendship and extends help to members of our parish. Meals are delivered, cards are sent, and visits to shut-ins are made. Our calling is to try and make a difference by reaching out and caring.

If you would like to be involved or know someone who could use a helping hand, please contact Fr. Donohoe or send E-mail to Caring Friends.

Christmas Gifts for Needy Children

Each family in St. Irene's parish is invited to donate a Christmas gift for a needy person. Gifts for children are donated at the conclusion of the Christmas Pageant (or after Masses on December 15th and 16th, 2001) to be given to a Christmas party for needy children in the Lawrence area. If you prefer, there is a 'Giving Tree' in the main entrance with gift cards for specific needs. You may select one or more cards with a person's name and gift request. For more information, send E-mail to ChristmasGifts@StIrenes.org

Christmas Gifts for Prisoners

Each year St. Irene's has participated in a program that provides simple gifts for prisoners at MCI Concord. Usually the gifts (consisting of basic needs such as stationery, stamps, warm socks, etc.) are sent in a decorated shoebox. A recommended list is printed in a fall bulletin.

Please contact St. Irene's for more information.
