Our parish church was constructed a few years ago with the needs of our parishoners in mind. The front door opens directly to the parking lot - there is no need for a ramp, nor are there any stairs between the parking lot and the main body of the Church. Within the church, the aisles are wide, and there is space at the end of each row of pews for a wheelchair.
Our Parish Hall is located in the lower part of the Church building. There are elevators connecting the Parish Hall with the main body of the Church.
The Saint Irene Parish website is a resource for members of our parish, visitors to our community, and all Internet users. Our intent is to make the website available to all people.
The website staff is committed to ensuring that the website be a source of information to all visitors. The site will conform not only to the letter but also to the spirit of the accessibility guidelines issued by the international World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), and other proposed international and US standards.
In August 2000, the St. Irene website was evaluated by the Center for Applied Special Technologies (CAST) automated web site evaluation tool Bobby to determine conformance to the W3C standards. St. Irene's website passed the test. We are currenlty implementing the suggested enhancements recommended by the CAST evaluation.
