St Irene's Golf League
Calling all Golfers! St. Irene is kicking off another season of our Golf League. Previous seasons were great fun and many new friendships were formed.
We are asking anyone who might be interested in playing, at what ever frequency of participation, to send us some basic information; your name, email, cell phone, where you typically play, and handicap. Also, indicate what day of the week you would like to play. Once we have collected the information we will form a league that we hope will play from June through September. The frequency, format and locations will depend on the responses. It will include a round of golf and socialization afterwards around a snack/meal.
For more information, send a note to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Lazarus House "Drive for Dignity" Golf Tournament 2016
A foursome from St. Irene Parish, led by our famous golfer, Fr. Tom Donohoe, played in the Lazarus House Golf Tournament at Andover Country Club on Monday, May 23, 2016. In addition to Fr. Tom, the team included Deacon Charlie Ferraro, Jim Marchant, and Jim Reynolds. The "Drive for Dignity" tournament is one of three major fundraisers for Lazarus House and supports its mission to help shelter, feed, educate, and put to work people who have been hoping for someone to care enough to give them a hand up - not a hand out.
The St. Irene’s team “did us proud,” including accomplishing a number of birdie holes on the very challenging Andover Country Club course. In fact, one of Fr. Tom’s “pitch” to the green was within a foot of the hole - good for a birdie! At the evening dinner, Jim Reynolds was recognized for getting his tee shot closest to a tape marker midway on the 393-yard first hole. In fact, Jim’s ball landed ON the tape!
Thanks to Fr. Tom, Charlie, Jim and Jim for representing St. Irene Parish in supporting Lazarus House’s goal of giving thousands of people a new hope, a new start, and a new life for themselves and their families!
Below are several photos from the tournament.
